Eurydice
29" x 3" x 48" │Watercolor on Concrete │ 2025
Eurydice references the Greek myth of Eurydice and Orpheus. Details on the nymph Eurydice vary in each retelling of the myth itself, but in this work I sculpted her as a naiad: adrift and lost in death. Using concrete, I cemented her form into stone and built her form curled, with a crying nondescript face. The myth itself is significant in my life, as I find I struggle with distrust in many relationships. In referencing this myth, I came to face my own fears- looking at the consequences of this distrust and the fractures it creates between people you love. This piece is my ode to this human experience.
Fractures and waves of emotion, the depths of hurt and peaks of love
