Biography:

Finley Davila is an artist from Pennsylvania currently based in Atlanta, Georgia. They are attending Savannah College of Art and Design as an undergraduate, studying to get their BFA in Sculpture. During the summer, they focus on reconnecting with nature and their family while refining their sculptural practice. They create art exploring themes of overcoming strenuous relationship and life challenges through materials like cement, plaster, wood, and fabric.

Artist’s Statement:

Davila is a sculpture artist whose work focuses on process. They experiment with form, weight, and material as a way of pushing their creative boundaries. By playing with many different mediums, they explore material limitations that echo the limitations of ourselves. In doing this they embrace perceived failure and hurdles, evolving their ideas as they create. Davila uses these pieces to approach a variety of topics revolving around processing life’s curveballs as a way to connect with their community over the human experience.
